When you need a QR code
QR codes are a reliable bridge between printed or displayed content and a digital action, opening a URL, connecting to a WiFi network, adding a contact, sending a message or locating a map coordinate. The format is scanned by any modern smartphone camera without a dedicated app. Different payload types (URL, WiFi, contact card, calendar event, crypto address and more) encode differently, which is why a single generator that handles all of them is more useful than a basic URL-only tool.
When you need a fair random draw
Random selection problems come up in classrooms, events, giveaways and team assignments. The challenge is eliminating perceived bias, if participants don't trust the draw was fair, the result loses credibility. Using your browser's most secure random generator, the same one used for encrypted connections, produces a result that is genuinely unbiased and statistically equivalent to drawing from a hat with no advantage for any position in the list.
