PureTools
Privacy Policy
PureTools does not collect personal data. No cookies, no third-party trackers, no account required. The site uses privacy-first analytics that record only anonymous page-level data, with no IP address, no fingerprint and no personal identifiers. Some pages contain affiliate links marked "Sponsored". The tools run entirely in your browser: nothing you type, upload or calculate is ever sent anywhere.
1. Who is responsible for this site
PureTools is operated as an independent project, reachable at the contact page or [email protected]. For data-protection questions, the same email address is the data controller contact under the GDPR.
2. What we don't collect
We don't collect tool input or account data. PureTools has no user accounts, so we don't store names, email addresses or passwords. We don't ask for your location, contact list, microphone or camera. We don't run session recording, heatmaps or social tracking pixels. We don't sell, rent or lease your data to third parties.
The data you type or upload into a tool, passwords, image files, contact details for QR codes, WiFi credentials, body weight in the BMI calculator, anything else, never leaves your browser. Every calculation and operation happens directly on your device; nothing is ever sent to a PureTools server. There is no PureTools server.
3. Local storage in your browser
Some tools use your browser's built-in local storage to remember your preferences across visits. This is a feature of your browser, not data sent to us. Examples:
- The light/dark theme you picked is saved as your theme preference.
- The Pomodoro Timer remembers your focus and break durations and your daily session count.
- The CSS Gradient Generator remembers the last gradient you were editing.
- The Winner Picker keeps a short history of recent draws.
You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "Site data" or "Cookies and other site data"). Clearing it has no effect beyond resetting the corresponding preferences.
4. Analytics
PureTools collects anonymous, aggregate page-level statistics to understand which tools are used and whether the site works correctly across devices and countries. When you visit a page, the following is recorded:
- The page path (e.g.
/tools/pdf-merger/). - Your country, not your IP address.
- Device type: mobile, tablet or desktop.
- The referring domain (e.g.
google.com), if any. - A timestamp rounded to the nearest hour.
No IP address is stored. No cookie is set. No session identifier, fingerprint or personal identifier of any kind is created or retained. This data is never shared with or sold to third parties.
5. Ads
PureTools does not currently run any advertising network. Ad slot markers exist in the page layout for a potential future integration, but no ad code is loaded and no advertising cookies are set. If an ad network is added in the future, this policy will be updated before it goes live.
6. Cookies summary
PureTools does not set any cookies. No third-party ad or analytics network sets cookies on this site. The only browser storage used is localStorage for UI preferences (theme, language, view mode) and sessionStorage for temporary tool state that is cleared when you close the tab.
7. Your rights under the GDPR and similar laws
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or another jurisdiction with comparable data-protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data a controller holds about you.
- Correct or delete it.
- Restrict or object to its processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Because PureTools stores no account profiles, uploaded files, tool inputs or generated outputs, an access or deletion request to us would return an empty result for those categories. The only data we hold is the anonymous, aggregated analytics described in section 4, which cannot be linked back to any individual.
8. Children
PureTools is a general-audience site. No tool requires personal information, and we have no mechanism to identify users by age. We do not knowingly process data from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that threshold applies).
9. International data transfers
The site is served via a global content delivery network. The anonymous analytics data described in section 4 is processed and stored on infrastructure located in the European Union and the United States, under standard contractual clauses where applicable.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page changes too. Material changes, for example adding a new third-party service, will be reflected in the date and described here. There is no email list to notify because we don't have your email address.
11. Affiliate links
Some pages on PureTools contain affiliate links, links to third-party products or services that include a tracking parameter. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, PureTools may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are always clearly marked with a Sponsored label on the page where they appear.
Current affiliate partnerships: NordPass and NordVPN (on the Password Generator page) and Ledger (on the Crypto Calculator and Crypto DCA Calculator pages). No personal data is shared with these partners beyond what any standard link click transmits (your IP address and the page you came from).
Affiliate income helps fund the ongoing development of free tools on this site. It does not influence which tools we build or how they function.
