Odds formats explained

Decimal: Total return per unit staked including your stake. Odds of 2.50 on a 10 stake returns 25. Most common in Europe and with online bookmakers.

Fractional: Traditional UK format showing profit relative to stake. Odds of 3/2 mean 3 profit for every 2 staked. The calculator converts to decimal automatically.

American (moneyline): Positive odds (+150) show the profit on a 100 stake; negative odds (-200) show the stake needed to profit 100. Both are converted automatically.

Supported sports

The calculator is fully sport-agnostic. Whether you are betting on football, tennis, basketball, horse racing, rugby, cricket, MMA or any other sport, simply enter the odds from your bookmaker. The optional label field lets you note each selection — team name, player, horse — to keep your montante readable.

Frequently asked questions

What is a montante in sports betting?

A montante is a progressive betting strategy where you reinvest your winnings from each successful bet into the next one. You start with an initial stake, and if your selection wins, the full return (stake plus profit) becomes the stake for the next bet. This compounds your gains across a series of bets but also means a single loss ends the sequence. The montante is popular in football, tennis and horse racing betting.

How do I use decimal odds in this calculator?

Decimal odds represent the total return for every 1 unit staked, including your stake. For example, odds of 2.50 on a 10 stake returns 25 (10 x 2.50). To convert fractional odds like 3/2 to decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator and add 1: (3/2) + 1 = 2.50. To convert American odds: positive odds (+150) become (150/100) + 1 = 2.50; negative odds (-200) become (100/200) + 1 = 1.50.

What happens if one selection loses?

In a montante, a single loss means you lose your stake for that step and the sequence ends. The calculator shows your progressive return assuming all selections win. Use it to plan and assess the risk before placing bets. The stake shown for each step is what you would bet if all previous selections had won.

Does this calculator work for any sport?

Yes. The calculator is sport-agnostic: you enter the selection label (e.g. Real Madrid, Djokovic, Lakers) and the odds in decimal, fractional or American format. It works for football, tennis, basketball, horse racing, rugby, or any sport where fixed odds are offered by a bookmaker.

Is my data saved or sent anywhere?

No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server. Your bets and stake are never stored or shared. Closing the tab clears everything. Your data is never used to train AI models.

What is the difference between a montante and an accumulator?

An accumulator (or parlay) is a single multi-selection bet placed all at once before any match starts — all selections are locked in and the odds are multiplied together by the bookmaker. A montante is a rolling strategy where you deliberately reinvest each winning return into the next bet one at a time, giving you the flexibility to stop after any win and collect your profit rather than running all selections.

How many selections can I add?

You can add up to 20 selections per montante, covering even the longest progressive sequences used in practice.
